Semi-Permeable Capsules (SPCs) are versatile microreactors that isolate cells and maintain their compartmentalization during bulk reactions. Their robustness and permeability enable seamless single-cell assay customization through simple buffer exchanges.

BULK–LIKE MULTI–STEP PROCESSING

In contrast to droplet-based systems, SPCs allow incompatible reactions (e.g. lysis and amplification) to be decoupled by removing previous reaction components through simple washing, ensuring each reaction occurs under optimal conditions.

This flexibility empowers a mix-and-match approach to profile the single-cell genome, transcriptome, epigenome, and beyond.

ENRICHMENT

SPCs are compatible with standard FACS instrumentation, enabling the enrichment of fluorescent populations of interest. Capsules can also be sealed by reemulsifying them in oil, preventing small molecule leakage and enabling seamless sorting on the Styx platform.
